What type of work do you do?
I’m a lifestyle & portrait photographer based in Horseshoe Bay, TX serving Central Texas, Austin & Houston TX. I’m also available for travel because, come on, who doesn’t want to see the world?! I offer photography services from engagements, to weddings & family photos. My goal is to be there to grow with your family and to help capture your authentic story, at whatever point that may be in your life.
What is your style?
My photography style can best be described as Timeless, Captivating, & Real. I specialized in Lifestyle Photography, meaning I love candid & unplanned moments. Will I snag some photos of everyone flashing their best smiles for the camera? Of course, but my main focus is to tell YOUR personal story. I love capturing those real moments, that make your heart sing with love! I strive for the classic look of film photography and tweak each photo session to fit that particular session’s style. Oh and don’t forget light! I enjoy playing with light & seeing the mood it can set for a particular photo session. Chances are, if you’ve looked around here, you’ve gotten a pretty good idea of my style!
Do you edit your photos?
Of course, but like every artist is different, so is every photographer. My photo editing vision is based upon the clean & classic look of film photography. I edit to enhance the natural quality & mood of your photos. Have a blemish the day of? Don’t worry I can get rid of that, but if you’re wanting to get rid of those beautiful laugh lines, airbrush the entire image, or make radical adjustments, then I’m not your gal.
Why should I choose you?
I want to make your session as unique as you are, because I want to capture the true you. I want you to love your photos, and have a fun time taking them! I firmly believe that photography is an art and not everyone’s version of art is the same- it’s very subjective, and that’s ok! Each photographer and client aren’t an exact fit, but if you’re here and like what you see, then we’re probably a great fit! Prior to our session, I will send you a brief questionnaire in order to get to know a little bit more about you and your wants for your photos. I want to ensure that we have a similar vision & style for your photos, so that you’ll forever cherish your precious moments we capture.
What should I expect for my session?
Each photo session is different, and planning for it will vary depending on the type of session and what we have planned! With that being said, you can always expect a fun & laid back atmosphere for your session. Sessions generally can take anywhere from 1-2 hours depending upon the location, and the overall flow of the session. I always recommend not having any time sensitive plans before or after your sessions, because we don’t want to rush your session- it’s not fair to either of us. I also always recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early just in case of traffic or navigation mishaps!
What should I bring?
Bring an extra pair of comfy shoes(for walking/hiking around locations if necessary), water, a blanket/quilt to sit on, bug spray, and CHAPSTICK! I know, chapstick seems odd, but there’s nothing like forgetting and having dry lips during your photos. Trust me, I’ve done it. What else? Bring anything that may have significant meaning to you, or may provide you with a fun activity! Have children? Bring bubbles. Is it cold out during your photo session? Bring a blanket & mugs of hot cocoa! I’d LOVE to help you come up with a unique vision for your session!
What are the best times for photo sessions?
Outdoor sessions are usually best during the Golden Hour. The Golden Hour is that time of day when the sun is lower in the sky, and creates a warm, dreamy atmosphere that is absolutely gorgeous! The time of year dictates the Golden Hour, however it is during the hour after sunrise and the hour prior to sunset. I usually like to plan sessions about 1 hour before the Golden Hour so that we can have plenty of time to capture that magical light! If those time frames don’t work for you, don’t worry we can make any time work.
What should I wear?
I generally always advise against neon colors or matching outfits, and recommend wearing something that you feel comfortable and confident wearing. Neon colors can cast a reflection on your skin and neon skin isn’t the best look. Completely matching outfits can look a bit dated and odd. Now when I say matching, I mean everyone wearing the exact same outfit. The best way to coordinate a family or group for photos is to stay within a similar color palette. Always make sure you feel confident in what you’re wearing, because if you feel awkward or self conscious in your outfit, it’s all you’ll be able to think about. Prior to your session, I’ll help you plan your wardrobe and color palette by sending you my Pinterest board of ideas.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. I’m a mom and before that I was a bride- I know the want for quality photos but the reality of a budget. I don’t want you to loose out on timeless memories which is why I offer payment plans! Dependent on what package you are looking for, I would be happy to discuss payment arrangements with you!
